Since its inception as a coffee house live 10 minute opera, REPO! The Genetic Opera has garnered its exposure due to its undying fan base. The true driving force behind the unstoppable success of the movie is not the million-heiress cast member (Paris Hilton), the block buster director (Darren Lynn Bousman) or indie elite distributer (Lionsgate), it is the legions of late night crowds who line up in their home made costumes and sing the soundtrack in unison while they wait.
Long after the film’s initial run, and months after the DVD hit stores the frenzy grew. Emails from rabid REPO! Fans flooded message boards demanding REPO! in their hometown theatres. This gave birth to the three highly successful REPO! Road Tours which brought the film's creators and cast members coast to coast to meet fans.
